Premier Washrooms Go To Top Of The Class

Latymer Upper School, a leading independent co-educational day school in Hammersmith, has recently refurbished the washroom facilities at its boat house on the River Thames.

Latymer Upper School, located at King Street, Hammersmith, has a long and distinguished history dating back to 1624. However, it is also a school looking firmly into the future and has an extensive programme of development and refurbishment.

These plans recently involved the refurbishment of washroom facilities at the school’s boat house, situated a short distance away on the banks of the Thames. To achieve a standard befitting the school, fit-out specialists Craftwork Interiors of Putney were engaged to carry out the refurbishment.

Craftwork Interiors had to carefully choose the correct materials to meet the demands of a facility where students excel at their chosen sport of rowing. The project encompassed toilet cubicles, vanity units and showers.

To meet the challenge, Craftwork worked in partnership with Tenon Washroom Systems, selecting the company’s Premier Plus range of washrooms. Premier Plus is manufactured using solid grade laminate which is ideally suited to wet environments. The system is unaffected by spraying water and is resistant to bacteria, mould and high humidity, all commonplace in shower areas.  

Premier Plus is also excellent at resisting the everyday knocks of the hundreds of students using the facilities all year round. Additional strength is offered by the extruded aluminium headrail and a robust, full length door hinge extrusion. The boys and girls washroom areas were re-fitted along with facilities for male and female staff – all in an attractive nova sapphire blue finish.

The final result is a stunning transformation from the previous facilities, and one which meets perfectly the school’s aim of offering the very best learning and sporting environment for all of its students.
